So... my computer won't turn on.

I woke up this morning and firefox wouldn't load any pages despite my connection being active (torrents, AIM, a MUX, etc.) and I figured "hey, I'll restart this bad boy before work."

Now whenever I boot it up, it lets me log in and then goes to a blue screen of death and restarts itself. So I'm attempting to fix it now but I have limited time before I have to run to work.

All is not lost - even if the restore doesn't work, I can get to the computer in safe mode, so my files will be safe. If I have to manually burn them off the comp, wipe everything and rebuild, then that's what I have to do. Obvs, I'm hoping system restore works, though.

So anyway! This is my unexpected hiatus notice! I will still have limited access via my phone, which I will use for gtalk (lyssa.hillen) and AIM. I can I'M only, no neochat, sadly. I also hope to have the wireless network up and running in a few days, so I'll update you guys from the laptop once I have more info.

Damn, this tiny keyboard hurts my thumbs...

EDIT: System Restore, not so much. I have to head to work now but I'll be fiddling with this later.

Okay so even though I was like "OMG I cannot handle another game!!1" I have to say that xovermods looks too amazing to pass up. I actually held Mystique first because I was like "Who doesn't love villains, amirite?" and then immediately after that, I was struck with the idea to play

Actually for everything I would really appreciate any advice/hints/tips/plot/ideas that anyone has to offer since I'm v. new to the game but still want in.

Give me one of my characters and one of yours, and I'll tell you how they end up together and what their first-born is like, even if they are unqualified to have children. I might even give you a PB.

I really only play at Neopolis now but feel free to suggest characters from past games. Please please please!

What would you call a game that combined Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Supernatural?

Besides "Cracktastic" I mean.

     → It is weird to see a character application where the character is born the same year as you but has accomplished a shitload of stuff. I mean, yes: I realize that it's a fictional character and that's all well and good that they've accomplished a lot. But reading an app for someone who could actually be, like, a doctor at the age you presently are is a little depressing sometimes, NGL.
     → I'm not sure when the switch happened that I went from playing characters who were a couple of years older than me to playing characters who were, like, 6-8 years younger.
     → The Sims 3 is addictive and this has reaffirmed for me the fact that I will not ever ever play WoW.
     → My PS3 comes today. MY PLAYSTATION THREE WILL BE HERE TODAY OMG!!!!! ...and I have nowhere to put it.
     → Vacation begins tonight at midnight, bitches!

*ahem* Anyway, on a sort of more important note: I need to clean. I need to clean like I have never cleaned before - which is pathetically accurate because looking at the mess? I feel like I legit haven't ever cleaned before. I don't know how long this will take me but I have decided that I'm not stopping for anything other than food or sleep until it gets done. Well, food sleep and recharging my iPod.

So I will probably be scarce until Monday at the absolute earliest. More realistically, I'll see you guys on Tuesday. I'm reachable via GTalk (lyssa.hillen) and GMail and will likely have my phone with me, but be unable to hear it due to my ridiculously good in-ear headphones.

Those of you who were at FT may recall my obsession with The Sims based on the Sim!Pentamerone I made. Well I've extended that obsession to Neopolis by creating 3 of my characters in Sim version. This is Sims 3 though, so in addition to their 5 outfits, you can customize all sorts of stuff including their personality. Instead of putting dots into attributes, you just pick 5 Traits for your Sim from a list. So anyway here are my Sims with explanations.

Abrupt Hiatus for me. I feel bad because I'm actually active over at Neopolis and everywhere. But I know that the real reason for that is because I'm avoiding my life.

Saturday's plan, not in any sort of particular order.

1. Clean out hard drive to make computer run less-like-ass. Goal: 100GB free (as opposed to the 30 I have now)
2. Characters at Star Trek: New Frontiers MUX. Goal: Stat up communications officer and write background for Nurse
3. Work on Starbuck@we_coexist. Goal: Condense history into something a bit less tl;dr
4. Work on Screenplay - should be at 57 pages to be on track for ScriptFrenzy. Goal: 40-45 Pages.

Other vague and conceptual ideas:

Neo: Erin and Cole scene? She's still really hoping to attach herself as someone's plus one for networking purposes.
Strain: Chat w/Michie and stuff.
NextGen: Work of some kind - need to talk with Beth and Kevin.

More immediate goals that I need to do tonight at work. (No, you have no idea what this means.)
- Clean desk - Cleaned half my desk then lost interest
- Clean CRM office - not even a little bit
- Move tables at 11:50 right before we had to leave but yes we did!
- Finish Frontlist Plan Yes but only because someone else did it for me.
- CRM Calendar - A-nope
- Get Newsstand to ISO - Ha, no: though I did work on it a little bit
- Get Gift to ISO. (Gift Card H-Cart?) Annnnnnd no.

Edit: Updated after my shift at work. Consensus? EPIC FAIL.

I'm off work tomorrow so here's what I plan to do with myself:

1) Neopolis. Need to update some stuff and gather up the next Gossipnet - though I think there are only 2 or 3 rumors so far and I've been too sidetracked to be up on what the gossip is. HALP?!

2) Left 4 Dead. This is quickly becoming the most addictive game in the history of ever. EVER. I managed to beat No Mercy without cheating so now I'm determined to beat the whole game without cheating. Then I'll have to get a legit copy so I can play online. Also, must increase my headshot percentage and seek out downloadable content.

3) Zombie Music. Since L4D doesn't have a traditional soundtrack, I will need to find horror/zombie games that do, and obtain their soundtracks so that I have zombie music to listen to while I'm working on

4) The Book. I've tossed it around in my head a bit and now I want to actually get started on it. I'm debating getting a script and setting it up for hosting on my domain. Pro there is that it's less work to organize on my part, although I really like organizing these things by hand. Though online means I could have people check it out as I go, though I'm not sure if that would help/hinder. To those of you who have no idea wtf I'm talking about, just smile and nod.

2.5) Left 4 Dead Music. Having gathered song pieces from the game files, I'm sorely sorely temped to create some sort of Left 4 Dead suite, though this is more of an ongoing and long-term project and not as much of a 'to-do.'

5) Multiverse MUX. Work on the wiki to make it pretty and stat up Buffy and kick around ideas for third alt. Also make wiki for Veronica and Buffy. No one on here will know what this is, but I'm leaving a note here anyway so I don't forget.

I use her for Rogue.

I know that Neopolis is the most cracktacular game in recent memory, but please refrain from staying up until 2:00 in the morning the night before you have to wake up at 6 for work. Thinking 'Oh, it'll be fine because I've got another manager opening with me' is just asking for a text message from said manager saying that he's going to need to take a sick day and you'll therefore be opening the store by yourself.

Attention anyone looking for info on the Neopolis In Crowd!

After brainstorming with missbossyboots and then with trickyloki we decided to establish a group of friends that our characters all hung out with. We haven't been too specific about how many there were, but basically this was a crowd of kids who were all raised by heroes to believe in Doing What's Right and Making The World Safe. And naturally they became overzealous and eventually these kids would terrorize some of the ELE Kids and basically just anyone they thought was a Bad Guy.

So! Below the cut I'm going to hash out some details and if you think you've got a character who would have been causing trouble with them (or if you've got a character who would have been terrorized/victimized by them) then feel free to comment. Also, I've included an Event that happened just before the last school year that caused things to reach a Boiling Point and might have accounted for a sort of 'disbanding' of the clique - or at least kept them from being as violent and "proactive" as they had been.

So here's the info that I have so far. I'll edit it as I get more info, though I might be slow to do so since I have work tonight. The timeline is mostly Ricki-centric since that's the info I have established, but I'll definitely add more and tweak stuff if it doesn't mesh with what you guys have. Basically this is me shamelessly BEGGING FOR COMMENTS because I want to have stuff set up and have Ricki's app finished and sent in during the next couple days.

So I'm still laying in bed and typing this out on my phone, which should explain any insanity and typos respectively. After reading the posts and doing some thinking, I have come up with some thoughts regarding Capegirl:

Ahahaha as I was starting on the application I realized that actually no: she doesn't have to be a Cape. Well no, in terms of personality she's definitely a Cape, so she probably would still fit best in that group. In terms of the source of her powers, though, her dad was given some sort of magically blessed object that ensured that he never missed - likely an old Sheriff's Badge, and so he called himself The Ricochet Kid or something suitably Western themed. His daughter has inherited it and just goes by Ricochet.

Of course I'm not sure how the sorting dividing of kids into faculties falls. Would it be possible to have her tossed in with the Magic faculty even though 'No there's been a mistake, I'm definitely a Cape'?

I just spent my entire day moving entries from my CDJ on Greatestjournal (which will be imploding on January 30th) over to ibelieveinme. There's fic on there form my days of hanging out with a clique of HP RPers back in 2004 - DEAR LORD!

Also I'm debating my Neopolis strategy. I already submitted my app for Erin, but there's a 2 week waiting period between 2nd app and 3rd, so assuming Erin gets approved, do I want to app Zombiegirl first or should I plow ahead with Capegirl and send in zombiegirl in 2 weeks? The Cape is more likely to be social, I think, but I'm on the fence. Thoughts?
